Alternative weddings are a growing market with almost no good digital representation — most wedding sites are pastel and predictable. Till Death needed to speak directly to couples who wanted something darker and more personal.
Dark editorial aesthetic, dramatic typography, and a booking system that handles venue enquiries and supplier coordination in one place. Photography that actually reflects the alternative scene.
A brand and website that stands completely apart from the traditional wedding market. Bookings and enquiries handled directly through the site.
The Brief
The alternative wedding market is substantial and underserved online. Couples planning non-traditional ceremonies — gothic, dark academia, heavy metal, horror-themed — have almost nowhere to turn that reflects their aesthetic. Till Death was built to be that destination.
The challenge was building something that felt genuinely dark and editorial without tipping into parody. It needed to be beautiful, not just edgy.
Design Approach
The design system is built around high-contrast editorial photography, dramatic serif display typography, and a near-black palette that lets imagery do the work. Every section was designed to feel like a page from a dark fashion editorial.
The booking system was a critical component — alternative weddings involve multiple suppliers, bespoke arrangements, and long lead times. The enquiry flow captures everything a supplier needs to begin a conversation without overwhelming the visitor.
Photography
All photography for the launch site was shot specifically for the brand. The brief to the photographer was explicit: no soft light, no pastel flowers, no beaming smiles. The result is a gallery that immediately communicates who this brand is for.
Outcome
Till Death launched with a brand identity and website that stands completely apart from every other wedding services platform. Enquiries from the first week confirmed the market exists and is actively looking for exactly this.
